Please pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday. We pray for him particularly through these nine days of mourning, which began on Saturday April 26th and ends on Sunday 4th May

O God, faithful rewarder of souls,
grant that your departed servant Pope Francis,
whom you made successor of Peter
and shepherd of your Church,
may happily enjoy for ever in your presence in heaven
the mysteries of your grace and compassion,
which he faithfully ministered on earth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Eternal rest, grant unto him O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
Amen.

May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God rest in peace.
Amen.

INVITE FROM SR MARY

“Dear Parishioners of Jarrow,
As many of you know that after various medical delays, I am eventually leaving Jarrow shortly after Easter. It is a great wrench and a sad moment for me, but I know it is the best decision all round.
I am aware that I have missed out on much of the life here during the past few months but wonder whether we could perhaps meet up at St. Bede’s on 27th April shortly before I leave. It will be nothing grand, just a cup of tea and cake but an opportunity for me to bid a sad “Goodbye” and an enormous “Thank You” to each one of you for your loving support and generosity over the past 30+ years.
St. Bede’s Hall will be open to everyone after Mass on Sunday 27th until a short time after the end of the other Sunday celebrations in the town (including St. Mary’s of course).
Hope to see some of you on that day.
God Bless and again Grateful thanks"
